They don't make 'em like they used to

I READ in the Stage journal this week that George Formby's younger brother,Ted, had died.

Ted wasn't a stage entertainer but he did spend some time as a theatrical agent.

Later in his life he enjoyed celebrity status and was invited to branch meetings of  the George Formby Society to give talks about his more famous brother.

Ted worked some time on a farm and later became a milkman.

When George Formby (real name Hoy) was seven years old, his father (George Hoy senior) sent him to Ireland to train as an apprentice jockey.

He rode his first professional race when he was 10, weighing only three stones and 13 pounds.

They don't make 'em like that nowadays!
